Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a latte and a cappuccino?
A latte is about one part espresso to five parts steamed milk with a thin layer of foam. A cappuccino is roughly equal parts espresso, steamed milk and thick foam, so it is stronger, smaller and airier.
What is the difference between a flat white and a latte?
A flat white is smaller (about 160 ml) and usually uses a double shot with less, silkier microfoam. A latte is larger with more milk, so it tastes milder.
What is a cortado?
A cortado is equal parts espresso and warm steamed milk, served in a small glass of about 120 ml with almost no foam. It is stronger than a flat white and less milky.
How much milk goes in a latte?
For a 240 ml latte use one 30 ml shot, about 170 ml of steamed milk and a thin 30 ml layer of foam. Use the calculator for other cup sizes.
How much espresso is in an americano?
An americano is one shot of espresso (30 ml) topped with 60 to 90 ml of hot water, a ratio of 1:2 to 1:3. Add the water to the cup first for a smoother crema.
Which coffee is best for milk drinks?
