Founded in 2007 as a small wholesale roaster by Jay Burnett, Bold Bean opened its first retail cafe in Jacksonville's Riverside neighborhood in 2011. Today the company is driven by Jay's son Zack Burnett as Managing Partner and Green Coffee Buyer, with multiple cafes, a bakery, and a dedicated roastery across Jacksonville.
Sourcing & Philosophy
Bold Bean uses post-roast blending techniques, roasting each coffee component to its individual sweet spot before combining. They source single origins directly and focus on building long-term relationships with producers in Ethiopia, El Salvador, Colombia, and other origins.
