About Bird Rock Coffee Roasters
Chuck Patton started roasting in his garage in 2002 and selling at local farmers markets before opening the first cafe in 2006 in La Jolla's Bird Rock neighborhood. Named Roast Magazine's Micro Roaster of the Year in 2012, the company was acquired by PT's Coffee in 2017 and has grown to multiple locations across San Diego.
